Northwest Coast Surf - Lummi Island

I went down to the north west shore to look for unique driftwood shapes and got my photo for today. The wind and tide were just right for great crashing waves on the beach. It was great to hear a big wave whomp down then hear pebbles go clackity clacking back out with the surf. There was not enough light left in this day to get good color or sharpness but the churning and crashing is there I think.

with Orcas Island in the background! Love it when the wind blows from the west!! The sounds, clear to my house, a block from the beach, is that clackity clack!!!! Can even tell when the wind turns in the night, because it wakes me up with that same wonderful sound…

When we have a “Today’s Photo …” it would be nice to date it.

Is this Frank’s Beach? I have a lot of really great memories on this beach from when I was a kid. I can smell the hot dogs cooking, just typing this. Great action shots!
