Quite the Undertaking – A Photo A Day
I am Jessica. I am a mom first and a photographer second. Occasionally I am a photographer first and a mom second, depending on the situation.
If my two year old is slurping spilled soda off of the ground or if I walk into my bathroom and my favorite lipstick has been used as war paint, I usually grab the camera first and then freak out second. Sometimes…

There is a project theme that has been running around the online photography community for some time called a 365 Project. This means that a person takes one photo every day for an entire year.
Intimidating, yes? Yes!!! As much as I love photography, there can be weeks where my camera never sees the light of day. I have a hard time forcing myself to exercise every day or do other things that are good for me. How am I going to be able to stick with a project like this?
Well honestly, I’m not sure if I am but I am going to try! I have discovered though, that I don’t have to take out my camera every single day. On days where things get spinning out of control, I can just pull out my handy-dandy iPhone. Hooray for gizmos!
I am excited to work on this project. I believe that it will help me be a better photographer and artist.
The Day 1 photo is of my 8 month old daughter, Eva Marie. After three boys, she has been a welcome and fun addition to our family.
Day 1 was taken with a Nikon D90. 50mm focal length, f/2.2 with a shutter speed of 1/50, ISO 640. Natural light.

She’s so freakin’ cute!!!!!!! And will probably be the most photographed little girl in the world!
Wow, go for it! Pretty good idea to get one photo every day. I like how you add the photo and camera info. Great post.
