Decisions Mezzotint
I like to use symbolism in my works. My ‘Decisions’ print is about taking risks and accepting challenges. We can predict a result but we never know for sure what the outcome of a decision will be. The door in this mezzotint is a symbol of transition. Doors, gates, windows can define separation between space where you are now and the space on the other side. Decisions too are like doors, there is the place you are now and where you will be after you make a decision. The darkness on the other side of the door represents the unknown future. The shadow is mine but could represent anyone making a decision. This door is in the town of Mesta on the island Chios in Greece. This print is a copper plate mezzotint, 18″x24″, and took about a six months to complete.
