Bronze Tile Bear Protector Totem
Bronze Tile of Bear Protector Totem
The Bronze Bear Protector Totem is the first one of a series of three tiles carved in wax by Janet Walker and cast in Bronze using the lost wax technique by Adam Mills of Walker Bronze. The permanent mold was made from the original wax carving so subsequent waxes can be created to make more of these tiles by the lost wax process. A protective shell was put on the wax and then the wax was burned out of the mold and molten Bronze poured into the hot shell.
This Bronze High Polished Tile with Antique Patina on the low points of the carving is 6 inches by 6 inches and approximately ¼ inch thick. It fits well and can be integrated with any other commercial tiles sizes.
We’ve made these tiles this winter at Walker Bronze so we can present them at the Seattle Gift Show, possibly the Home Show in the spring. The idea is to use them as design elements in home decoration; fireplace accents, mantelpiece additions, kitchen and bath tiles. Even as accents in floor, doorway, entry hall or patios. Let your imagination be your inspiration! Since they are bronze they will take a lot of wear and tear and only become more beautiful with time. The possibilities are endless!
Who doesn’t want a Bear Protector for their home or garden? Owen says, “Bear got’em good juju”, but then that’s Owen, the Papa Bear at our house! We want to bring an affordable piece of Northwest Coast art to every home because Northwest Coast art is our passion.

Now on to the other two that go along with this one!
